Neuroma
Neuroma Symptoms
Symptoms associated with a neuroma, a condition involving a pinched nerve in the foot are pain in the ball of the foot, a tingling and numbness as well as pain between the toes while walking. Symptoms usually start gradually and may only affect you when the nerve is irritated due to activity
Causes
Causes include movements that involve repetitive irritation to the ball of the foot, such as running, playing football, tennis or squash.
As well as this overuse and stress, flat feet or feet with high arches, using worn or unsuitable sports shoes are other factors that may lead to a neuroma.
How We Treat It
We can treat people with neuroma with physical therapy and the fitting of orthotics to their footwear and making these more supportive after analysis of their gait.
